Beet & Berry Smoothie
Smoothies are great vehicles to hide fruit and veggies that your child might not want to eat in their whole form. Beets is certainly high up on the list of veg that children often refuse. Don't despair, this smoothie is sure to get their tastebuds tingling!
Ingredients
- 230ml unsweetened almond milk
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 small beetroot
- 150g frozen strawberries
- 150g frozen blueberries
Method
1. Either cut the beet into chunks or grate (depending on the power of your blender). If you're blender isn't highly powered, then grate the beet and leave the berries to thaw for 10 minutes.
2. In a food processor combine all the ingredients and blend until desired consistency.
3. Garnish like shown in the photo or serve on it's own.
Top Tip: You can also add 1 tsp of hemp seeds or flax seeds to this smoothie without affecting the taste.
