- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 2 cloves of garlic, finely diced
- Handful of fresh parsley, finely diced
- 2 tbsp knob Butter
- 3 tbsp Grated Parmesan Cheese
Instructions:
Preparation:
-
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
-
Chop the garlic and parsley and mix it into the melted butter.
Creating the Turkey Trees:
-
Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a floured surface. Layer the turkey and cheese slices and then layer the second thawed puff pastry sheet on top.
-
Using a sharp knife, cut the pastry into long thing strips
-
With each long strip, you will want to fold the pastry to create a tree and insert a wooden skewer to keep the tree together.
-
Brush each tree with the beaten egg wash prior to placing them in the pre-heated oven and bake until golden brown (approximately 15-20 minutes)
-
Remove and coat with the parsley, garlic and butter mix.
-
Sprinkle a teaspoon of grated parmesan on top (optional)
Baking:
-
Place the baking tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the puff pastry turns golden brown and puffs up.
-
Once done, remove the turkey trees from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes on the tray before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
